Megafauna Aboriginal cave painting of the 'demon ducks' Genyornis could be 41,000 years old, pre-dating the current oldest known cave painting by 11,000 years.
(ETA: I like how intelligent the comments are on the ABC article. Heh.)

After all, in Australia, Genyornis was thought to have gone extinct 40,000 years ago, pretty much. Wow, I hope it is that old. :)

What I love is that Australia has so much neat stuff that this cave painting was found 2 years ago, and they knew two years ago it had the potential to change the world's understanding of art and cave painting; but there's too much cool stuff to get around to in Australia! So they got to it this month.

they do look kind of delicious... you could have a hugemongous megafauna turduken... i'm so read for genetic engineering.... not with humans... but giant ducks could be fun...
