Beautiful! Your work is gorgeous. I love it with the colored pencils in the front, seeing all the different colors, and then the drawings behind. It gives a neat effect. Keep up the awesome work. :)

what kind of watercolour pencils are those? my only experience is with crayola and those suck massively.

I use a bunch of different brands - the ones in the picture are Faber Castell Albrecht Durer watercolour pencils, they're expensive, but worth it.

However, I also Derwent watercolour pencils because their pigments (except in the blues) are stronger than the Albrecht Durer's.

And then I sometimes use cheap Faber Castells as well, because they apply more smoothly, which is good for washes and stuff.

Same goes for the coloured pencils I use after I've applied the watercolour pencils - but predominantly Faber Castell & Derwent. I loathe Prismacolor. Haven't used Crayola since I was a kid.

I'm working through my supply stash with my kid so that when it all runs out, I can buy quality art supplies. it makes such a huge difference in enjoyability!

It really does! :D Crayola does make okay stuff, but I like blendability and smoothness in my pencils (on the flipside, I buy schminke pastels which can sometimes fall apart on the way home, they're so freaking crumbly. Heh).

I like seeing the variations in composition all next to eachother like that. I need to show some of your art to my zoologist friend, she loves birds (and these four all have such great expressions!) and will appreciate your love given to less common animals.

Don't think I don't see Two Foxes there in the background bein' all gorgeous, either!

Parrot squeee!

I see a Princess parrot and... a plum-head? The yellow-headed one has a lorikeet look about it, but I'm not sure. At first glance I thought the uncoloured one was a cockatiel, but then no. Not sure about that one.
