Thank you. I might have to go back into the bushland behind our house, it's cooler today, and this afternoon the snakes might be hiding.

Silly peak snake season. They're freaking everywhere.

That looks gloriously like an engraving.

I think you'd love some of the Australian plants, like banksias, with their firmly sculpted leaves and gnome-like branches.

Awww, that's sad. Even though you always knew it was going, it's still sad.

Yeah, I like this one because you can see the white sand of what it'll be on the right hand side, and it's just so sparse and empty.

Being cleared for housing, is it? =(

I wish more places would leave at least some of the native plants intact (especially trees) rather than just clear-felling. It's so much nicer having a large tree in the yard.

(And don't get me started on the sheer hypocrisy of the way Joondalup did it, clear-felling then moving in natives and going on about being 'a city in harmony'.) [/rant] >.>

Yup. The Malvern Springs development in Ellenbrook is not too bad (it's kept some of the older trees/eucalyptus, and are saving macrozamias and balgas and putting on in every front yard / using them extensively in local landscaping), but it's still sad to walk a tract of land, get to know the local spirits / trees / raven pair, and know that it's going soon. :(

Fantastic photo. Is this at the back of your place? Such a shame :(
