I actually went with more 'deep sea' colouring, than icy colouring, because I feel that this more accurately represents the transition that our beloved, fragile and fierce polar bear is undertaking as I write this.

I also get the sense that polar bear doesn't mind the colours I chose. Heh. This is one of my favourites that I've done for a while, actually.

Actually, you know, not so far - which is a bit weird. This is the first bear totem I've ever really drawn - except for sun bear aaaaaaaages ago.

I do have a brown bear coming up though. So two bears. :)

I love the throat, and the eye, and the mouth. And i can't tell if polar bear feels masculine or feminine to me, at the moment. Bear usually comes to me as female, but polar bear is currently feeling masculine.

Not that it matters. Love!

*nods* I never really get - from many 'collective' animals - a sense of 'woe impending doom' unless I'm anthropomorphising.

Polar bear is too strong an animal to ever go truly extinct; like the Thylacine, I think.

I don't think Moonvoice is selling prints of this totem series due to the dimensions of the originals. It may have changed since last I asked though.

Not at this stage, sadly due to the size of them. But when I move, I'm hoping to invest in a good enough printer that I can offer signed prints myself - and then I definitely will be. :)

Actually there's a lot of cream in that bear, which brings out the white. I didn't want to leave it as plain white board since cream is so much more vivid when the light hits it.
