Aha! In that case, I'd probably start with the Endangered animals, because I don't think there's anything like that out there. And probably Australian animals closely behind for the same reason.

Yeah, this covers my thoughts on the matter quite well.

Starting with Endangered would be the way to go, then work your way out to less specifics, step by step.

I chose Endangered to start, but of course I'm interested in anything you put out. I do think the Endangered species would be best first because those don't seem to get a lot of coverage in other works on Totems. (I.e. Raven, Wolf, etc. are discussed numerous times. Not that your take wouldn't also be interesting, but it would be nice to see something in circulation for Leafy Sea Dragon, or other less "common" totems.)

Endangered species would be fantastic, though I'd need to do quite a bit more extra work. Especially because I think I'd want to focus on the critically Endangered. With over 2000+ Critically Endangered animals, it's about time people paid more attention to them, and not just the ones they hear most about.

But the oceans would be fantastic too. I could illustrate deep sea creatures! *bounces*

My vote for Other would be "birds." But really I wouldn't complain about any of them.

Ah, birds would be so fantastic. Rest assured though, they'd be well-represented in all the other categories, I love them too much not to. *g*

I couldn't pick just one, so I picked the two I wanted most but I would be interested in and would buy anything you put out. Ocean creatures was about a bee's thingie behind endangered species, for example.

I think it might be cool to see totemic associations for mythical critters, but not the obvious ones - things like senmurvs, that sort of deal.

I don't actually work with the totems of mythological creatures, *blush* and have only really done so on request. It's not something that...comes naturally to me? So if I were to do a book on that, it would unfortunately have to be in the future. It represents a monumental amount of artwork to be executed. I'm sorry!

I agree with Starstrider on doing a series. It should be interesting and different since a lot of the totem books out there focus on well known creatures or on North American/European animals.

So true. I'm tentatively thinking I might do 'oceans' first simply because then I can gauge how it'll see, and from there I'll work on a book that focuses only on Critically Endangered animals.

I chose endangered, because there are likely to be animals that I and other people don't know much about, and because by knowing maybe... maybe we can help? /naive

But it would be sad, too.

I'd be interested in all of them, of course! But I think endangered has the most generalized appeal, with oceans coming in a very close second (although current polling flips my opinion!)
