Maybe is home. She has intradermal stitches, which will dissolve; so no stitches to be removed (or that we can even see!). She's also on injected antibiotics, so no pills! She has a mini cone of shame, which the vet even talked about removing tomorrow, but then he said maybe, and then he sort of laughed at his own joke and said 'maybe Maybe!' And I said 'maybe not!' Since I know what she's like.
She cried all the way home, and then as soon as she got in, her tail was up like a flag, she was purring, sniffing, walking around. She jumped on the couch. She climbed her cat tower. She jumped on my lap while I was on the toilet and forgot to close the door, and promptly lay down and purred and looked up at me dreamily. She's had some water. She's eaten.
Moet sniffed her lots and lots, and then hissed at her like twenty times. She smells like vet, Fentanyl (she still has a pain patch), and she has a cone on her head. It's going to take him a little while, I think. On the plus side, he's stopped crying.
She has to go back in tomorrow to get the Fentanyl patch removed and to decide if she needs some more pain medication. And then it's a check up in the future, and then she is home free, pretty much. She's doing well, has been shaved everywhere (I have pictures), and has about a 12cm long cut up her belly (no picture of that yet).
Anyway, she's just gotten up and is now sitting next to me on the chair. She clearly hasn't hurt herself from jumping previously anyway, though I may have hurt everyone in a 15 kilometre radius with the shriek I made as she climbed the tower.

Now she is licking the cone over the position where her surgery was. Thank goodness for the cone of shame! She's much more limber, stretchy, relaxed when sleeping etc. She just walked on my lap, and then jumped off my lap while I said 'oh my god what is wrong with you?!'
And she walked away fine. Aside from STILL scaring us to death, she's doing fine, it seems.

Date: 2010-05-21 01:41 pm (UTC)It's still cute no matter what it is. That's going to itch when the fur grows back though. My suggestion is some cheap moisturiser - that's what I used on Sharna when he 'I'm allergic to dog food' patch returned when she moulted.

Date: 2010-05-21 01:32 pm (UTC)It's great to hear that she's feeling so well. Hopefully this means that she will recover both easily and quickly. And then you all just have to recover from the fright she gave you.

Date: 2010-05-21 11:14 pm (UTC)But I figured if she had done herself any damage from 'regular displays of athleticism' last night, she'd be not as good this morning; and she still seems fine. Just...jumping a little less.
She slept in my bed all last night. :)

Date: 2010-05-21 01:51 pm (UTC)I thought Moet might be a little hissy with her. She smells & looks funny (like you said) plus he's probably just a tad upset with her. They'll settle down. You're going to have to watch him, to be sure he doesn't start licking her stitches. Then he'd need his own Cone Of Shame, & imagine how much he'd hate that!

Date: 2010-05-21 06:50 pm (UTC)I gotta say, though, she looks like the first one to fall asleep at a drunken frat party. Weird crap on her head & one half shaved. The look on her face in the first picture should be captioned, "Oh, you guys are asses!"

Date: 2010-05-21 07:15 pm (UTC)Good heavens, she has been pretty thoroughly shaved, yes. It always makes me laugh, how much they look like they have been mowed like a lawn.
Sweet pretty spotty baby.
