Baby Cassowary - there were two. I had no idea these guys were even there, it's not like Caversham was advertising this at all. And they were in a completely accessible area, I mean 'reach down and touch them' area, although you wouldn't, you know, because they look at you like 'GET NEAR ME AND I'LL SOMEWHAT KILL YOU.'

Australian Raven - I was probably more fascinated by the Australian ravens hanging around the outside of the enclosures than I was the actual animals in the enclosures sometimes.

Aawwwwwrrrrhrhhhhhhhhhh

Some Kind of Bettong - I want to say Burrowing Bettong, but I was kind of dissociating heavily this morning, and I don't actually remember, my photographic memory for these things disappeared and I was left with a normal human ability to remember animal names. Fail.

They make sounds like starting motorbikes. Seriously.

Mother of two joeys waking up. So cute!

Bush Stone Curlew - for some reason, I always think these guys kind of look like they're just starting to come down from meth or something, and they're at that stage where their really seriously contemplating sticking a knife in your face and going 'GIVE ME YOUR MONEY, FOO!' You know, he's really thinking about it.

Leetle Crocodile

Some Kind of Goat - Argh, they had a name on the sign, seriously, sigh. I thought of [livejournal.com profile] bewylderbeast when I saw all the goats. :)

Hairy-Nosed Wombat - Maybe. Of course with my dissociation, this could just be an extremely snub-nosed pig or something. No, I'm pretty sure it's a wombat.

Indian Peacock - Starting to grow in his breeding plumage. Nom.

I really like that second crow photo very much. The pose is one I associate with being "talked to" by the ones here -- I suspect their opinion is disparaging. :)

I'm familiar with your Stone Bush-Curlew from zoological collections, but also because of the related Eurasian Stone Curlew. They always remind me of vintage movie stars with their enormous eyes (and somewhat stoned expression).

And a wombat! I like wombats. Amazing creatures. I'll refrain from making yum yum noises about the goat because I know there are people who love them as pets, but...
