[Art] Golden Snub-Nosed Monkey

I had a lot of fun colouring this one.
I needed to sort of let it sit for about a week? Two weeks? A lot longer than I usually have to let these things sit, but eventually I came to realise firstly what the circles would hold, and secondly how I wanted to colour it.

Amusingly the colour of the background changed at the last minute, and I'm happy with that too.

Those aren't the colors I expected for that one. I really like the color composition though. The browns and reds with the blues and greens.

The monkey itself is actually that golden colour (minus the heavy reds) with the bright blue face. So awesome. :)

And I love the monkey. He looks so wise...but so sad ;-; Is it just a melancholy kind of medicine, or is it a reflection of the artist? Like the Storm Lion?

Oh! I only commissioned it er... last week? I'm so getting another one for some of my fictional characters, so that I can more easily relate to them. :D

And yeah, the monkey is pretty sombre looking hey? I suppose that was maybe I was drawn to it as my first foray into drawing monkeys though. He didn't look silly or crazy, he looked serious and grounded. His energy has some silliness in it though. :D

Well it's up to you, the pictures are so heavy with symbolism so that people can basically figure out what they want them to mean. :) I mean sure there's a meaning for me, but it would be cheating if I projected that onto others.
