[Vilturj] Glyphs - Installment Three
Oct. 25th, 2006 10:36 amMore glyphs.
In this batch there is:
- The Three Worlds
- Turjvhecze
- Mind
- Pingut (time stick)
- The Two Souls (or human and animal together as one)
The Two Souls

This glyph is representative of the two souls, often though to be the animal + human combined, or it shows the animal totem within the shaman, or it can show a human and animal that have shapeshifted together. It can be used to describe affliction by animal possession, but it can also be used to aid shapeshifting, and for those who believe that have animals within their spirit to 'bring forth' this aspect of themselves.
The Turjvhecze (pron. Ter-VETCH)

The turjvhecze is a person drawn to animal spirits and other gods so much they are sometimes unable to ‘function’ in everyday life and develop ongoing illness. They are constantly connected to the otherworlds and other animals to the point that they are sometimes unable to reach the status of Orai’ka/ma. Turjvhecze are those who make new inroads and lore into Vilturj as they come to understand more of the lore and secrets of animals and spirits who are talking to them. The turjvhecze is also considered an ‘affliction.’
Their constant connection to the otherworlds, and other animal spirits is shown in the three lines (representative of the otherworlds, and representative of 'binding') connecting the animal soul to the human soul.
Timestick / Pingut (pron. pin-GOOT)

This is a physical object that is quite small and often has feathers and beads attached at both ends. It must be made of wood. It is often painted black on one end, and red on the other. Alternatively it was painted red and blue. It was used to accelerate or decelerate time in the otherworlds so that the Orai’ma/ka/yjek was able to visit the past, the future, and lateral worlds.
This is a fairly literal drawing. The three lines at the bottom represent the objects attached to the pingut to represent the past (often feathers, ancestral tokens etc.) and the three lines at the top represent objects attached to the pingut to represent the future (again, feathers, beads, etc.)
Mind / Thought

If I could tell you why this means the mind, or thought, I would. Lol.
The Three Worlds / Otherworlds

This glyph represents the three worlds. The vertical line & spiral cutting through the middle is the 'tree' that connects all worlds, and also the underworld itself. The 'M' in the middle is representative of mountains, the two 'ticks' at the bottom of the right mountain represent trees, people, and/or soul. The triangle and the circle represent the 'upperworld', as a bird - messenger - and the sun or moon or star. The two opposing facing V's at the top and bottom represent worlds that are 'further' than the upper and underworlds, often thought to be worlds of time, past, or future.
