[Vilturj] Glyphs - Installment Two.

Narwhal / D'miezak'r (pron. Deh-MEE-zack-urr)
The narwhal is the Vilturj representation of the moon god D'miezak'r, a sullen, melancholy young wedded to Zniliajana, the midnight star (Karajana the sun goddess' other incarnation). The tooth/horn of the narwhal is clearly phallic. The narwhal is not considered a creature 'independent' of the god. In other words, any physical manifestation of the narwhal (female or male) IS a manifestation god himself, and the animal is sacred. It's not a case where narwhals simply 'represent' D'miezak'r. In our mythology all narwhals ARE D'miezak'r.
D'miezak'r
A more esoteric depiction of the moon god. The symbol itself also represents a path to the upperworlds, (the upward triangle to the crescent moon), as well as the narwhal tooth/horn + the moon. This glyph is used in some initiations, and as a tattoo on male initiates of D'miezak'r.
Marriage / Karijiana and D'miezak'r / Zniliajana and D'miezak'r
The esoteric depiction of the marriage between Karijiana and D'miezak'r. This is very symbolic and I don't really have time to go into it all - but essentially, the horn of the narwhal in this picture represents the phallus, and the wavy lines on either side represent the vaginal walls of Karijiana as well as the sun's rays (she is a sun goddess) as well as the rays of the midnight star. This is a very powerful symbol not often used in ritual simply because it essentially invokes the presence of the midnight star, the sun, the moon, sexual union between the gods and the moment of orgasm itself (shown in the midnight star, or the small dot above the crescent moon). Okay... that will do for now.
The Beluga and the Narwhal / Karijiana and D'miezak'r
A literal depiction of Karijiana as the Beluga (as all narwhals are D'miezak'r, so all belugas are Karijiana and thus are sacred) and D'miezak'r as the Narwhal. In coloured depictions the Narwhal is black, representative of the darker aspects of the otherworlds, and the Beluga is white, representative of the lighter aspects.
Vavale
The swamp goddess Vavale is depicted here (related to stories regarding Baba Yaga). The inverted 'V' represents the steep roof of her home, the 'u' within representing the cauldron that she cooks kids in - heh - and also the crone's vagina which is 'shielded' from men by the home that is housed around it. The two unbroken lines below the house represent the swamp or wetlands, and the three broken lines below that represent her three horsemen, or the three hands that help Vavale out at times. The horizontal lines on either side of the house represent the protective fence that makes it hard to reach Vavale and/or the forest itself.
