Lots of states typically Republican went Obama, proving that even Repulicans have a bullshit limit.

California has decided San Fran is getting too big and has probably caused a huge dent in their tourism/economy by discriminating against an important demographic.

I've also heard news that Massachuesetts passed some form of law towards legalizing Mary Jane.

And I can't remember which state, but an assisted suicide effort gained a foothold.

i am so pleased. i am so pleased i cannot even see straight right now, not just for the federal level but our state level (North Carolina) has broken a 36-year conservative US Senate rule, and not just did it go liberal, it went FEMALE, along with our first female governor (also liberal). i am just amazed.

I think we're finally seeing the results of a shift in people's minds that's been in the works for a while...that the Religious Right seem determined to put down.

I am, however, ashamed to be from Florida right now...after 62% of my fellow Floridians felt the need to pass an amendment that "protects" marriage as between one man and one woman; no other union can be legally recognized by the state now.
