"Wow. That's the most eagle-iest eagle I've ever seen."
Yeah. That was my first thought. SO PROFOUND, yeah?
Like I wanted to comment on Red-Tail Hawk, (but I don't think I did), this three-quarters view really works wonders.
...Okay, waitasec, I just took a second look and realized that Golden Eagle's not actually three-quarters view, he's just such a damn good profile that it looks like he's popping off the page anyways. Gorgeous, glorious job on the eye and the beak, the personality in them looks just right (and I'm not even naturally an eagle person!)
The solar energy and theme could not be more obvious here--the sigil's shape, and the way it's 'in-line' with the progression of the energy spheres, the way Eagle's standing right in the path of the 'sunbeam' as if part of it. The tendrils swirl down and around him and remind me of the way motes of dust move in shafts of sunlight. Black and golds for the solar light (and more iridescent paint, yay!), reds-blues-purples for the sky beyond. Oh yesss, this is a success.
That is an incredibly powerful rendition of Golden Eagle! (Much better than the craptastic touristy stuff that gets tossed around the states a good deal!)

But seriously, that's amazingly gorgeous. Will there be prints at any point for some of the items in your "as totem" series?
