[Photos] Clouds

All I do is look up.
When we're walking,
all I like to do is look at my feet,
or look at the sky,
or look at the plants,
or look at anywhere that means,
I'm not making direct eye contact.
Mammatus, cumulus, etc.

Some altocumulus and cumulus and other sundry effects.

Altocumulus. All of these were taken over our house.

More altocumulus

Altocumulus is sometimes known as 'fish scale' clouds but before I knew that, I called them 'sand dune' clouds because they reminded me of the ripple shapes the wind sculpts in sand dunes.

The rainbow was actually brighter than this, as evidenced by the washed out colours of the garage etc. But when I tried to make the contrast in the garage etc. accurate, the rainbow was eye-destroyingly bright. So here it is, in its watered down glory. It's a supernumerary.

Home

The view from the front of the house. Some mammatus, cumulus, fractus, a bunch of other stuff. This was only the beginning, it got so much more epic (and that's the photo I lured you in with, lmao). But these pinks and violets were unreal. This photo hasn't been edited. The suburb was bathed in fairy floss pink.

A big storm system that didn't do much to us overhead actually, which is why I could get such good photos of it (because we had the edge, and not the formless grey mass that is the underside of a cumulonimbus anvil).

But I do love looking up and feeling like I'm underneath turbulent waters.

Where the clouds could be jellyfish.

Taking on such touchable mass.

Moody

Pretty sure this was a northerly.

The ones that come from the south are rarely this pretty.

Forbidden fairy floss.
