[Art] The Copper Forest WIPs (Inktober) - Part 2

It's been pretty slow going,
but not as slow as I predicted?
Which is good.
I livestream a lot of it on Instagram
for the good company.
And otherwise I just listen to music and work.
And Maybe comes up and annoys me all the time.


1. Sort of starting to take shape? Sort of? Don't think about how much left there is to do...






2. Bark texture set in.



3. A beetle with a castle on its back. That's normal right?



4. You guys the beetle is fucking tiny.



5. ...But I love him.



6. One day I just did dots.



7. One day I just did lines.



8. He's so smug because he knows how awesome spines are.



9. I have to admit this was maybe the first day I thought that this might - might - end up being one of the better pieces of artwork I've ever done.



10. Still happy.



11. Maybe I should've used a reference.



12. Tree and ravens appear.

Those are some ambitious pieces. I really like all of the small details.

Lizards and beetles and foxes and pheasants! This is thoroughly delightful! It the beetle a stag beetle (quite apart from carrying a magical castle on his back)? I was infatuated with Lucanus cervus as a child, and remain partial to them still.
