I like to keep my hands busy,
so it's a happy habit while watching TV.

I love the scissors! One of the few good things to come out of an old therapeutic relationship with a therapist I used to see.

I think it's pretty messy! It's a lot neater than when I started, but I don't 'knot off' properly, apparently.

I always love those bird-type scissors! It's a shame that I don't have any good reason to use them, but they are so cute~

it's a happy habit while watching TV. So true. I had a bit of a chuckle when I saw this post on my reading page. I'm meant to be visiting my Dad to watch the Pro Bowl this afternoon and so I'll be dragging out my own cross-stitch to keep my hands busy.

The back of your project looks fine to me. Believe me, mine are quite a bit messier.

I could only wish the back of my projects looked like that. Did you do something with the stitches? They don't look like the standard cross-stitch.

I don't know what you mean by the standard cross-stitch - I mean, it's the back of a project, so I'm not sure how it's supposed to look?

But in terms of the front, yeah, it's standard cross-stitch. I'll get a picture of it today as my photo of the day.

Er, should have made that clearer. The stitches on the front don't look like the basic cross-stitch to me, they look more like corduroy.

You mean the scissors picture? The scissors are resting on a cushion. :) I probably should've labelled it! I love that cushion.

The actual cross-stitch project itself is of a tiger. :D

I had a closer look myself, and it looks like that cushion could have had its coloured squares kind of hand stitched! I should've said something. :D

And I don't think your cross stitch back is messy! It looks neater than some of mine!

I think your back is pretty neat, though I completely understand not thinking that. I'm always pretty surprised whenever someone compliments me on how neat the backs of my projects are.

(This reminds me I should get back to working on my various on-going projects.)

*nods* I think you just get used to the back being messy 'by your standards,' maybe? I wonder if that's what it is.
