[PotD] The table and chairs.

Well, you see, we like sitting outside.
Understandable, given the spectacular sunsets and cloud formations,
and the garden itself when its in flower (which isn't now).
But it's been three and a half years before we've been able to get a table and chairs.
So actually, building one today and putting it all together was a great deal of fun.


With a Hypoestes on the table from my father. And a lovely potted lemongrass that we use for cooking all the time. :)

That blossom is just so pretty!

It's a lovely, delicate kind of burnt orange. But doesn't flower as often as it should. I fear that grevillea is not doing so well in our garden, alas.

Oooh, nice! I am envious of your potted lemongrass. ;_; I don't know if it would do well as a houseplant, but I am pretty sure it would be unhappy as an outdoor plant during our winters.

The lemongrass was a gift from my Grandmother. It loves humid, warm environments and cannot tolerate frosts - so, it may have to be indoors during winter or probably in a greenhouse type situation to get the warmth and humidity still?

I have one that I keep indoors during winter. It seems to do remarkably well.

It's good, since we have some outdoor powerpoints nearby for laptop chargers and so on, so hopefully will get some writing done out there. :)

It's weird but after so long not having the backyard done, I think it's going to end up being one of my favourite areas of the house. You have such an awesome vision for these kinds of things. :)

Your "finished" back yard looks wonderfully inviting. :) (And mmm, lemongrass. I haven't eaten any dinner because I haven't felt like it, but maybe thinking about lemongrass would get me to defrost a curry or something.)
