[PotD] Humid and stormy.
Jan. 8th, 2013 07:47 amWas a warm night and promises to be a warm day (over 40C here in the Brook).
Woke up to altocumulus and cumulus fractus and mediocris and a bunch of others
in the cumulus family.
All clumping together,
reminding us that the thunderstorms might not be done yet.

Date: 2013-01-08 07:26 am (UTC)Still, I wish the weather were consistently cooler for you and for the rest of Australia. I'm sure Hobart's not going to be the last devastating fire we hear about this summer.

Date: 2013-01-08 09:37 am (UTC)We've been getting plenty of thunderstorms over here, which has had everyone a little jumpy. The rain has been evaporating before it hits the ground. I'm sure you know what that's like.
Wishing cool breezes your way!

Date: 2013-01-09 11:31 am (UTC)I'm UK based and what we seem to have here is weeks on end of leaden grey skies- 'darkness at noon' as a well known writer has it.
It begins to get depressing after the first two months........

Date: 2013-01-09 11:33 am (UTC)I have Summer Seasonal Affective Disorder, so the prospect of dreary days always appeals - but I doubt the reality would pan out the way I think it would in my head. I'm also used to Perth winters, which are blustery and wild - drizzle is a rare occurrence here, it's either 'rain' or 'torrential downpour.' I mean... we're spoiled for sunlight - the most days of sunlight of any major city in the world (which includes a lot of crisp winter sunlight).
But I do like overcast days; they make my Summer SAD disappear, and enough of them in a row gets me to a good place mentally. Whereas I'm the reverse in Summer.
