Well, the cats haven't been outside for months,
and I decided to let them out for some supervised time today
so they could experience the grass for the first time.
It's also the first mild-ish morning since the heatwave
and I thought we could all do with some time outside.
It sometimes disturbs me to think of how destructive Maybe would be in the bushland if she had free-range outside.

Moet thoroughly approves of the grass, though I was sad to realise there's no more white sand for him to camouflage against anymore!

Flehming.

Look at this cutie, rolling around under Darwinia citriodora.

In this shot, I was actually enjoying our garden as well. Look how much it's grown!

Maybe, slinking around your gardenz, smelling stuffz.

Moet by miniature woollybush.

Maybe is a very vigorous 'roll around-er.' It's actually hard to get shots of her, but she loves it so much that I have to try, because I mean, here she is, just so fucking happy to be rolling around on limestone.

Water you doin, Maybs?

I take a lot photos of Maybe because she's active and photogenic in a unique way, but Moet is a boss. I mean he really is. He has an ability to radiate a sense of appreciation of the world. Moet is more of a troll than Maybe is, more mischeivous, more likely to play aware tricks on Glen and I (Maybe is a troll simply because she's a whirlwind). And when he's happy, he's more likely to just lie down and appreciate the world. And here is, doing just that (and keeping an ear on me!)

This is Maybe appreciating Moet.

I was calling Maybe to me and she got distracted by the washing line, as she hadn't seen it up close. She's panting - I say it's the first decent day after the heatwave, but it was still warm in the sun.

Maybe watching Moet again, always wanting to know what he's doing.

Date: 2013-01-04 02:38 pm (UTC)We're lucky to be able to give them supervised time. One, they're both pretty well trained and they both respond instantly to spray bottles (i.e. just squirting nearby). And secondly, we have 6 foot fences around the perimeter of the house, and no tree branches they can climb. Moet can jump a 6 foot fence, so we have to supervise him the most; but once he knows that we're watching him, he mostly just rolls around the grass a lot. :)

(Hm, I should get some cat icons.)
