Hee. I am enjoying the energy, it came easier - surprisingly - than when I worked with labrador, actually. Which I wasn't really expecting.

I'd actually expect that to a certain degree. For all they're the same species, individual breeds do differ widely. While I like Labradors very much because they're such pleasant, genial dogs, I'd never want one. And yet I have a "thing" for GSDs, even the ugly or not-so-pleasant ones. It's all relative. That said, as a lover of the breed I am of course pleased when someone else also loves them and gets on with them, and since they're such staunch helpers of humans, I would hope that you would find the energy supportive rather than draining.

My grandfather had a German Shepherd maned Rosy. She was a gruf dog but very loyal and protective.

It is awesome that this picture, or just mentioning the GSD, reminds people of GSDs that they've known. :D That makes me so happy.

YAY, German Shepherd. :) I love their colouring so much; part of the reason why we were so drawn to Leeloo (who people often mistake for being a German Shepherd mix).
