The Watercolour Pencil Stage.
It amuses me when people message me during this stage
because I'm often thinking things like
'where the fuck will I put the keyboard?
How the fuck am I supposed to type?
Oh god, where is that specific colour blue?
WHY ARE THERE SO MANY COLOURS???'
It's a fun stage...

That's not even my non-watercolour pencils (i.e. all of the colour pencils). The collection has really expanded since 1998. o.o

Sometimes my futon and coffee table get that way with markers! But not quite to that extent, since I don't have nearly as many colors as you seem to. Definite color envy here, too!

(Do you have a favorite brand/type of watercolor pencil?)

I don't really have any favourite brand that I'd use above any other these days. I sort of like different kinds for different workability. Faber Castell Albrecht Durer because their range of reds is astounding, and they have a comprehensive and lovely range of very dark greens and blues; but they don't apply as dark as you'd hoped. Derwent Watercolours because they have some really lovely shades (jade green, the turquoise green and blue, the water green, and so on), and because they have a reliable texture and output. Derwent Inktense for very vivid hues when necessray (especially in the reds), and you don't need much to get an amazing result.

So, a mix. :)

I feel like I know the 'where the fuck do I put the keyboard?' feeling- sometimes my work desk resembles that, but with envelopes and pamphlets to be folded or things to be guillotined and laminated, and this pile of files to be given to archives, and these surveys to be entered- but your desk looks like a lot more fun, even though you can't quite remember where exactly you put that blue.
