A 'feel better' playlist.

Glen and I got some unexpected bad news yesterday, and it's been a pretty bleak end of the year. On top of that, several close friends are going through awful, or truly tragic circumstances. So I decided to make a playlist of songs that cheer me up.

I hope some of them cheer you up too. :)

You probably do know "Birdhouse In Your Soul" - it was very popular in the mainstream when it first came out.

Just listened to it. Doesn't ring a bell at all. I don't think I was listening to pop music at all back then.

Yeah; I never heard it myself until a friend played it to me. Glen is constantly dismayed at how many songs I don't know (that are considered popular music), because I haven't listened to a radio station for 15+ years.

"Strictly Game" only because I can't deal with that kind of electric noise they have at the beginning. XD I have nearly vulcan hearing, though. =)

*nods* That's fair enough, it was one of the songs I wasn't sure of. I LOVE Harlem Shakes, but it's one of those bands I'm fully prepared for other people not to like, y'know?

I'm quite sure I could like them--once I get past the first minute mark and they don't have that background noise I quite like it! But yes, I definitely know. For instance, I think this is one of the best songs ever because you can just *feel* the energy coming off it, but nearly everyone I've played it for (regardless of spirituality) thinks it's creepy and too-clashly: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q27Ew-BBkdc

I don't think it's creepy at all! It does make the hair stand up on the back of my neck, but that's because I'm a Witch, and I understand how they're raising magickal power with their voices. That's an amazing piece!
