Photo/s of the day. Ellenbrook.
Oct. 31st, 2011 04:08 pmSo Glen, Putu and I hung out yesterday afternoon,
and decided to find a park where we could go for a walk.
Because it's lovely, balmy Spring weather right now,
and great for mostly being ratbags
and scaring the locals.

The papery bark from the eponymous 'paperbark' tree.

It's a me!

I always forget we have this park less than a five minute drive away; it's pretty nice.

Let's pretend there's no tiger snakes in there.

My two boys.

Here they were playing with a soccer ball ridiculously close to the water.

It could - of course - only end in tears. (But we did get the ball back!) Thank goodness for 25 kmh winds.

Stink beetle!

I love this shot. We were all being so silly. I wish I could say that I took it; but I didn't. Glen grabbed the camera off me and Putu started running in circles around him - it was a total coincidence that this ended up being one of the photos that came out. :)

Date: 2011-11-01 01:28 am (UTC)And yeah, totally random. Glen wasn't even focusing the camera, he was just pointing and shooting.

Date: 2011-11-01 01:30 am (UTC)Very stinky beetle (or bug, I should say). I used to love picking them up / handling them as a kid. They'd 'stink' on me, but I never found the smell that repellent, so I didn't mind. Of course... when I got home, on the other hand... lol

Date: 2011-11-01 01:31 am (UTC)It is Spring right now, heading into Summer. But also, Perth just has a great deal of sunlight. I think we might be one of the top cities in the world for sunny days, or maybe the top city in the world? I can't remember. It's sunny a lot here, even in Winter.

Date: 2011-11-01 01:32 am (UTC)I played with them a lot as a kid, and unlike just about everyone around me, I never found the stink repellent. So I'd happily have them run all over me. And then I'd come home and my parents would be all WTF??? I'm sure.

Date: 2011-11-01 07:57 am (UTC)Also, the fact that you're going into spring makes me want to live in the southern hemisphere for this half of the year, so I can always skip the worst of winter.
