Photo/s of the day. Maybe.
Oct. 24th, 2011 09:44 amI spent some time snuggling with Maybe this morning,
as I'm on 'holiday' right now,
and have finished my university work.
I got my camera, because she was in a curious, snuggly mood.
My beautiful girl.

No photoset of Maybe is complete without her looking alert.

Eye contact! Eye contact that lasts long enough for photos!

She went down to explore a stain on the wall at this point (it happened yesterday, and it will be cleaned today).

And then she came back when I called her.

Date: 2011-10-24 03:19 am (UTC)It was nice this morning, taking the photos. She was very snuggly and happy for me to be there with the camera, and when I left to go process the photos, she had already settled back down again to look outside. She loves that spot. She gets to be close to people, she can look outside, she can hunt flies that get caught in the blinds.
I still find myself grateful that we've gotten to a point where she is, for the most part, a lovely companion animal. I look back to how things were, and how they are now, and consider myself very lucky. She doesn't even chew things like she used to. Though she did massacre a pair of socks the other day - it was my fault for leaving them in an obvious place.

Date: 2011-10-24 04:29 am (UTC)I think this is one of the big good points about having a reactive companion animal. They are a gigantic source of work and worry, but we learn to *really* appreciate them (and the smallest amounts of progress) in a way that people who don't have to work with their companion animals don't. I know I've learned an incredible amount from my shatter-wit, and will never feel the same way about "ordinary" dog behaviour as a result. Not that I wasn't appreciative before, but now I am in awe of things that others take very much for granted. :D
