Decided to reprocess this illustration through Photoshop, with better colour accuracy.
I can think of no better time to do it,
than on a cold day in the middle of Winter.

Definitely Halloweeny. I think Baba Yaga is one of the quintessential 'myth' witches of the kind you'd find represented at Halloween, even though she's much more than that.

Yes, thank you for the beauty that is it! I love the weasel family...did ferret rescue for a long time and still have four of them. And wolverines, well, they are just too fabulous; have loved them since I was a teen and disbelieving all the horrible things said about them.

Oh... of *course* it's much more "green" than I thought at first! (I feel dim now!)

I thought it was thoroughly remarkable to begin with, and even more so now. I'm not certain I'd be comfortable having it hanging on my wall, though... How does Vavale feel about it? Or does she not care?

It's got olive-green throughout, and a little bit of sap green. It never came through properly at first because the camera flash washed the picture out. So I took a photo without flash which gives more accurate colour. I've got it up in my studio at the moment. Her energy in the room.

As for Vavale, she was... I don't think happy is the word. I think she didn't find it lacking in the moment. But she wants more artwork from me. It just takes a while for what she wants to coalesce. I have to go hunting in the swamps to find out what she's got in mind.
