It's a possum; nastier than a badger IMO (but still awesome).

The Virginia oppossum (the species in this post) is only found in North America. I fairly certain Europe doesn't have any marsupial species.

I believe she meant native; the possum is native to North America (I think the only native marsupial order outside of Australia that still exists).

Oh god, my stomach hurts now. I wanna call, if only to tell them that's no one's cat and they're free to keep it.

Seriously.

I've seen a version of this with ferret instead of cat, which makes a bit more sense. I mean, possums are loads bigger than ferrets, but someone who had never had much contact with ferrets could mistake it. Cat? Yeahh.

Heh. This thing's been floating around for a while, and I laugh whenever I see it. The little frowning face after "not housebroken either" always gets me. I'm reasonably certain it's not real because the variations have slightly different pictures, and different addresses/phone numbers, but the original (whichever one that might be) might. One would think that anyone who lives where opossums are common would know better -- they're fierce, nasty, and so slow moving that they're actually commonly seen. People learn to leave them alone, except when they're thoughtless like the people in this video. My thoughts on that one, in order are (1) stop videoing and put the dogs away safely in another room (2) fellow with the shovel, *put on shoes* and (3) this is why a dog door is often not a good idea. :D

Hmm, I think I need to clean my monitor, that cat looks bizarrely like a possum.
