Hai, DWeamers.

My boys walking through King's Park.

First, we went to King's Park, which overlooks Perth city and the Swan River.

It was a gorgeous day. Glen had taken the day off, and it was the last time we're going to see Putu for a long time now. Years, perhaps.

War memorial.

We did what everyone should really spend some time doing at King's Park, which is lie down on the plush, cool grass in the shade of a jarrah tree.

Hi DWeamers, this is Putu. Who had never rested on the grass at King's Park before!

Hai, guyz.

This was the view of the canopy when we turned around and looked up. And we did. It was awesome.

Many dirty jokes were to be had in regards to setting up this photo. My touch phobia stayed mercifully dormant. But being out in nature makes it a little quieter anyway.

We saw some very strange tree graffiti.

And I saw a juvenile raven and had to take a gazillion photos because he was quite tame.

Grapes are the best!

Then we drove to Leederville. We were originally going to go to Greens and Co. Cock (that's what the graffiti says!), but we decided not to, despite its wonderfully illuminated interior. In the end we went to San Churro's Chocolatier, but we don't have photos of that or the food, because we were too busy eating (or they were, I can't have that kind of food when I'm out because of my IBS).

So then we decided to go to the Burger Bistro for an actual lunch. I was very enamoured of its ceiling. There were also Banksy pictures everywhere, which was awesome. And Kanye West was playing as we went in, followed by oldschool Frank Sinatra, which was a bit of whiplash!

I got an Agrum, but I didn't end up drinking it, and instead took it home and it's now in the fridge for later.

The two stooges to my musketeer. Sayonara, Putu. We're gonna miss you.

Canada is kind of like that too.We have interesting history but not much of a sense of culture aside from our aboriginal culture (which hides by the wayside) and defining quirks. It's kind of a blank canvas place, which I like as a place to live so far, but it hasn't even developed a strong (really multifaceted) character like the states has, much less a definitive culture like Europe, South America, Asia and other regions.

That being said, the scenery and the flora/fauna are what really draw me to Oz. And the undercurrent feel I get from the place. I'm actually planning a tentative 2 week vacation in August *shakes fist at finances*. The friend I'm going with is just going to visit her friends and check out the art scene, which seems fun, but I also hope to do a lot of sight-seeing!
