[Art] Sample cards for both the As Totems expansion oracle deck, and Australian Animal Oracle Deck.

The 'as totems' expansion oracle deck would - theoretically - be a deck that you could build and expand yourself. With over 250 'as totems' illustrations already, from all the major countries in the world, and the plan to introduce more specialised species, it will be possible to buy limited edition releases, build a base deck, and in the end, create a deck that is specific to your region, your favourite animals, your client's guides, and so on.









The Australian Animal Oracle Deck is a complete deck featuring 72 animals broken down into arcanas such as 'the big players' 'ferals' 'the quiet helpers' and so on. You can see all the images and meanings here: http://moonvoice.dreamwidth.org/410230.html









Obviously I'll be tweaking things, but this is what the actual size of the cards would look like; so you can see the resolution and the quality of the text right now. What do you think?

I'm really happy with how the echidna looks actually. I deliberately chose one of my most detailed pictures (echidna) to see how it'd look compressed and relying only on colour and line, and I'm muchos happy!

The text seems fine, I would have some concerns over the image quality compression for some of your more complex works, you may find you will have to re-do a few for the deck specifically so you don't get nasty compression errors.

Looks wonderful, and would definitely buy them. The only oracle I use with any regularity is the Druid Animal Oracle, and I'd love another animal based deck.

I actually think the images and such look pretty clear, which I like. :D I mean the details are lost, but that's okay, I can still tell it's like an echidna and an emu and stuff.

I'd automatically be buying a minimum of 2 of every single card available. One for my & shatterpath's deck and one for my nephew & his mom's deck. And I'd probably find other people to buy them for, as well...

And the Australian Animal Oracle Deck is what initially drew me to your journal, I think. IMSC, lupagreenwolf had mentioned the drawings and I fell in love like instantly!

They will be the size shown here. I cannot get larger ones printed unfortunately, so they'll be playing card size, essentially.

Yeah, I'll hopefully get the first test batch of 'as totem' cards within the next month (well, I'll probably order them in the next month, they might take a bit longer to arrive since I'm going through the USA.)

Oh definitely I'll be helping people! :D The Australian Deck I'll probably be doing as a separate 'thing'. Like hopefully a separate deck with its own packaging and maybe it's own self published book via somewhere like Lulu (if I can find a good free formatting program anyway).

Yes! Definitely rounded corners. Though I'll be needing to double check everything with the printer and will hopefully find out soon. :D

I am amazed. Your use of contrasting color actually does make these work beautifully in tiny size. My only regret is that people won't get to see all the astounding detail. It's like ... fractal art.

Also, your deck concept is brilliant. I haven't seen anyone doing collectible divination decks.

I like the idea of also, down the track, getting people to vote in animal 'packs' they want to see, and possibly sponsoring the actual illustration of the animals (this latter part I haven't decided on yet).

I also like the idea, with totem work, of illustrating the animals that are most popular, and then also one or two of the least popular too. That way for all of the 'we want these animals!' the profile of lesser known totems with equally powerful meanings will still get out there.

Lots of thinky things, anyway. :)

The past stuff is what's happening for the tarot deck, which is a separate, complete project. Otherwise everything else will be in the new 'as totems' style.
