1. I am happy for people to subscribe, especially for artwork and stuff. All other content is under access lock. You're welcome to join! If you grant access and I like the cut of your jib, chances are I'll grant access too. :)
If your journal is empty or you haven't updated (publically) in years, please introduce yourself! Otherwise it feels a bit like being subscribed to by a ghost, lol, and I won't feel comfortable granting access.
2. I feel strongly about trigger warnings and cutting things for sensitive content. I will try and catch a lot of things here under cuts (or filters). I have endeavoured to make this a safe space. However this is first and foremost a safe space for *me*, which means sometimes I am posting when I'm not in the right frame of mind to trigger warn or place things under cuts.
Things you should know about me, if you are considering reading / friending this journal
1. I'm a creative person. I talk about writing, art, playing piano, and numerous other ridiculous hobbies (cross-stitch etc) a lot.
2. I'm not well. I mean really, I'm not well. I have GERD, Hereditary PGL1 -> SDHD, fibromyalgia, joint hypermobility syndrome, type 2 diabetes, NAFLD, severe TMD, IBS-D type, Sjogren's, intermittent allergic and stress-based eczema, PTSD etc. I see a lot of specialists to manage this stuff.
3. I'm a pro-choice omnivore, transmasc NB (he/they), Childfree, kinky, polyamorous gray-asexual.
4. I believe in some weird stuff. - I'm an animist. I'm a long-term shamanist (traditional Russian practices) with a background in Wicca and paganism in general. I'm an Ovate in the Order of Bards, Ovates and Druids (OBOD). I'm a hard polytheist. Gods - to me - are individual, totally fallible, not omnipotent or omniscient and they make mistakes too. I have zero tolerance for evangelism or people who practice evangelism. I'm sure there are very nice evangelists, but imho, I don't have to be friends with them.
5. I hate workaholicism and I am a workaholic. Yeah, it's a thing.
6. I like media. A lot. John Fiske is one of my personal heroes. Rod Giblett changed my life. If you easily dismiss whole schools of research and think TV (and pop culture) destroys the brain, is stupid, and people shouldn't ever watch it; you're probably not gonna like me very much! I've got a BA Comm and have commenced my Masters. If you think that violent media causes violence irl, we're gonna have a problem. If you think people writing taboos in fiction is a crime, show yourself out.
7. This blog is not anti friendly. If you don't know what an anti is, you probably don't have anything to worry about If you're the kind of person who is like 'yeah completely, people can read whatever they like, EXCEPT underage/incest etc.' (you don't have to like it, but it's important you not think *I'm bad* for liking it; the former? Not an anti. The latter? Yep), then you're an anti and you're not welcome here.
8. I LOVE FANDOM. While I may not talk about it often, I am super active in fandom under different names, and this is a fandom friendly space.
