During! If she sees a thumb in front of her mouth she generally has to chew on it. No exceptions.

We're working on it; so she doesn't chew as much, but she still gets a few good chomps in.

It's great when you're walking around the house, you know, hands at your sides, and out of no where ninja-kitty is hanging off them with her claws and mouth going 'OM NOM NOM, BEST GAME EVAR!'

She is so cute. And so pretty.

In that last shot of her in profile, I think the fourth one up? She looks SO much like an Egyptian statue. The proportions of her nose and forehead, and her lovely big ears. Beautiful. Really, really beautiful.

Heh. All of the pictures (except the CHOMP! one) are charming, and the CHOMP! is just funny (well -- assuming it's not *your* hand or foot that's the target). Anyone who has had a young animal can relate, I think, but possibly not be as accustomed to the CHOMP! as you are with Maybe. I looked like a victim of domestic abuse for the first month and a half with the current dog, because his mouthing was *that* bad. He never meant to cause harm, and never broke the skin, but I was a network of overlapping bruises from shoulders to wrists, and sometimes elsewhere as well. I took to wearing long sleeved shirts (in August) to avoid having to explain. We managed to teach him that it wasn't desirable or necessary, but the learning took time, so I can relate!

Anyone who has had a young animal can relate, I think, but possibly not be as accustomed to the CHOMP! as you are with Maybe.

Maybe angles her mouth back as quickly as possible, to try and grind down with her back teeth. It's highly unpleasant (I prefer sharp front teeth over the grinding of back teeth + powerful jaw any day). But she is much better than she was.

I've managed the minimise the behaviour to gentle licking most of the time, but... I don't know if we'll ever completely get her to stop wanting to do it, y'know?
