All of these are under a cut.
Started blocking in the colour of each individual feather in the wing, with a combination of Carbothellos and then Winsors. I snuck some violet in there. I've added another streak or two of the dark red Schminke along the back of the neck, it's unblended in this shot.

Now I've blended (roughly) the feathers, and started blocking in the colour of the flames. I've also roughly blended in the dark red streak on the neck.

Here I've blended (quite smoothly) the flames, which may be stupid, since there are about 400 ways they can be ruined as I continue to apply dark colour everywhere else. I've also added the white wing feathers.

Taking a break from the flame and the feathers to work on the sea. Darkened the base of the swan.

Started blending the stylised-like-woah-sea. You can see the difference between blending and unblending. I haven't added any more pastel to the blended ones on the left, that's just how amazing blending is. And then after blending, the trick is to add some rough pastel over it to bring out texture, since blending makes things smoooooooth. Which is great, if that's what you're going for, but I don't want my sea to look too smoooooooooth.
It has occurred to me that there may be too much sea in this picture, so I may actually slice off the bottom few inches and butcher my artwork. Heh. I just like saying that. I won't know if there's too much until I balance it out with the sky and eucalypts anyway.
