Your sense of capture is amazing. All shutter speed aside, your ability to catch the three dimensionality of bird movement is wonderful. Thank you!

The gray butcherbird shot is impressive. Clear and beautiful, I can see all its wingfeathers. o_o

They kind of are, and yet curious at the same time. I see them in this suburb a fair bit, but they're usually moving so quickly I can't get a picture.

I love the photos and your icon! Really wonderful lines and composition in the second photo. Is there any particular reason it's called Horse Swamp?

Hee yes! Back several decades ago, when Whiteman Park was farmland, if horses went missing from a property this almost always went down to the swamp. As a result, the swamp became known as 'Horse Swamp,' and all the farmers knew to go there to collect their horses. *grin*

Cool huh? No horses there now though. The farmland was reappropriated into a government Nastional Wildlife / Bushland Reserve, though they still allow cattle to graze in some sections.

These are gorgeous! The 2nd has such strong contrasts to it, makes the bird really pop. The 1st has lovely motion.
