The path up.

The dead paperbarks.

Smile.

The movements of grubs under the bark leave patterns behind.

My eucalyptus fingers.

Menzies banksia blossoms, before full-bloom

The dead paperbacks made me shiver all over uncontrollably. :/

As they should, I guess.

I love them though. I love their hunchbacked, bent over, no-nonsense but sometimes riddle-filled spirits when they're alive. And I even love the sinister spirits of the kaarny (cursed tree spirits) when they're dead...

The next to last paperbark photo brings to mind dolphins or whales, to me.

Great pictures. :)

I liked that shot too. That rift in the bark goes all the way down, and there are things living inside of it with black spindly legs (probably spiders, or large ants).

Very awesome, and somewhat spooky.

The 4th picture, under the smilely one, looked like a sad/gentile whale or horse eye.

Very pretty pictures.

Incredible.

Also, a bit more organic than I need to look at right now. I could so fill this little box with fauna-fully inspired porn right now.

I love the photo of the grub's trails. A friend of mine calls that "wormspeak" - as though that's what they are writing, leaving behind for us.

wow, fascinating stuff, the paperbarks and flowers. I like the squiggly pic of paperbark - wants me to reach out and rub it.

neat flora.

Before I met you and started seeing your photos, I never thought of Australia as beautiful. I think it's a timing thing as well as you being willing to post pictures.

I love those grub trails.

A walking stick with grub etchings, brown on the silver wood, is a prized find around here.
