I'm really stoked .iinet is fighting it. They've been one of the biggest and strongest voices against it.

:/ The whole thing gives me the heebie jeebies. That we will soon have an internet censorship system much the same as China's.

aside from the fact that the system just wont work and will more than likely just slow the everything down, and that people who want to access this stuff will find a way round it anyway, yeah thats the scary part, us, China, Iran... nice company :-/

For media freedom? Definitely 'nice company.'

I shouldn't be surprised, even 10 years ago, Australia had the most restricted media in the entire Western world.

I think it's whomever wants to, I'm not sure if the ministers are obligated to listen to letters written by non-Australians, but you can certainly participate in other ways (like putting up the 'no clean feed' code, and so on) to show your support.
