Beautiful work as always. I'm blown away by the detail in this, and the beautiful vivid colours. Really, really well done.

The red roses are particularly insane, even in the dim light I've currently got in the study they're just like 'hey, we're really REALLY RED. Deal with it!'

*g*

This is going to sound a bit odd, but the thing I like best in this piece is the shading in the roses. The rest of it is compelling, but I my eyes keep wandering to the windings of the roses. Also, I understand why you've presented Rosenrot as having reddish brown hair (it fits with the bruin after all), but are you drawing from an actual story for this? The reason I'm asking is because I'm familiar with the version in which she is said to have black hair. It would be very interesting if there were variations.

In the version I read, they never indicated hair colour, and I decided to go with brown/red to match with the colour scheme (I think black would've been too jarring). So I cheated. But hey, in my version they kill the bear-prince, and that doesn't happen in *any* of the versions. *grins*

The roses were an utter pain, but turned out SO well. I'm particularly happy with the red roses. They're insanely vibrant. I'm glad you like them!

Awesome work. For some reason, I really like the lower left corner . . . the white roses against the blue. Random thing to like, but I really really do. :)

It's not technically a blue, it's a deep jade blue/green, it's very pretty. I've been using it in a few things lately, wherever I can. There's heaps of it in Dear Little Brother. :)

Oh this was way different than what I expected XD My foresight sucks, lol.

I love how you colored the blonde hair though, I can almost see it rippling with the shades there.

And roses, squeee <3

What did you expect? (Out of curiosity, you don't need to say of course).

Yeah, as it turns out, I don't hate roses after doing these. Though for a while it wasn't a sure thing.

Wonderful! I love the colour scheme very much. The colour and shading on the roses, and Snow White's hair are my favourite parts (well that and the spirals, I seriously love spirals.)

I would happily, happily purchase this painting in instalments, but if someone wanted/was able to pay for it sooner I would happily pass on to them because it would definitely take me four/five months.

Above I see you mentioning your personal version of the tale, would you ever share it with the rest of us? :D

Thank you! I like the roses and snow white's hair too.

I'm not sure about sharing the personal version of the tale, but the very short version is 'Snow White and Rose Red get sick of bear-prince bothering him, kill him, and decide to go their own way in life.'

I like the stark contrasts of color in this, and the sunset/sunrise colors in the background. It's very eye-catching. The flowers kind of lead your eyes through the picture.

It's kind of perverse, but it makes me want my bear skin rug even more. Not to walk on or lay on in front of the fireplace or anything... but to wear. Of course.

Well of course! I imagine it feels very fuzzy. And enveloping. And warm.

Wow oh wow, wonderful!

I have a particular fondness for this pair of sisters because of my own back story.

I was born the day after my cousin's birth. Both of us Gemini born in my grandmother's house with in a day of each other. My cousin K was small fine boned, blonde and blue eyed. I was 9lb, with lots of dark hair and brown eyed. We grew up like sisters and we celebrated our birthdays together with joint Bday parties. Even going to the same school. K used to be dressed in cool blue and I used to be dressed identically except in pink. Oh how I hated pink, red would have been better. We both loved this because of the closeness of the sisters and we felt we looked like them.

That is an awesome story, and it's so cool that you both identified so closely with it.
