Guinea Pig as Totem
The guinea pig, or cavy, is a small rodent that is neither a pig or from Guinea! Heh. Guinea pigs in Western culture are most commonly known for being wonderful animal companions. However in the rest of the world they are also a cheap, viable food source, and are associated with Indigenous folklore and mythologies. Guinea pigs are intelligent, vocal creatures; and kinda pathologically adorable!

Available for sale - ($75 USD)
18.5 x 20.5cm (or 7.4 x 8 in)
illo's board, fineliner, aquarelle, pencil, metallic and iridescent paint

Date: 2009-03-12 02:22 am (UTC)Guinea pigs are also known for being lab animals. You wouldn't believe how many patients have told me that they "feel like a guinea pig" after they've been tried on all these meds that don't work for them. I always kinda take it wrong for a brief millisecond and go into "cute mode." :)
Anyway . . . I want my doe beyond a shadow of a doubt. I look at her and know that she is mine mine mine. This one, oddly enough, doesn't feel like mine even though I really do love it. So I think I'll release it to give it a chance to find its real home. And if no one snaps it up, maybe I'll reconsider later. :)
As for payment for the doe . . . I think it makes more sense to do Lisa's and mine together. And since the next on your list are hers, I'll wait until that's done and get her yea/nay and then do it all together. Does that make sense?

Date: 2009-03-13 05:34 am (UTC)My mother-in-common-law's sister raises bunnies as 'meat rabbits' and is always trying to tell me how to raise Ophelia (our bunny) and thats awesome because she's a dumb twat and putting her in her place makes me feel better about myself, especially since the dumb cow eats rabbits. Oh, my self-esteem, she is damaged. Uhm. Yes. Cute cavy :3 Bunnies have awesome mouths too, so fricken cute.
