[livejournal.com profile] boundfate, do you want to email me at ophelias.diary@gmail.com to yay or nay this piece?

Gray Wolf as Totem

Perhaps one of the most common totem animals in existence! And this is reinforced by the fact that this is now the third time that it has been requested in one of my request lists! I think I'm going to put an embargo on gray wolf requests for the next one!

Want to read about what wolf represents as a totem? Go here: http://www.wildspeak.com/vilturj/totems/wwolf.html

Also, I'm putting an embargo on gray wolf requests in the next request list; no offense folks, but three gray wolves 'as totems' is enough! At least for the next six months.

LOL I don't blame you.

I think this is the best one you've done though, as far as the wolves go.

Your cut text reminded me. There is an episode in Planet Earth where David Attenborough howls and the wolves howl back. Whenever I play that Bella pricks up her ears and her eyes go wide and her tail goes all floofy, it's hillarious.

I think it's my favourite of the wolves you've done. :)

You must really connect Wolf with blues. :-P And I don't blame you for the ban on lupines. Heck, the greedy fangirl part of me wants to see as many different Pia totems as possible. *runs from teh wrath*

I do really connect wolf with blues and violets; not sure why. And a lot of bright reds and yellows, but that's more for glyphs and stuff which is why I didn't use it in this one.

Weird huh? :)

oh, wow, I didn't realize that you ever did repeats. I would love to see another snow leopard -- actually, a particular individual (I have a ton of photos of zir). Are you planning on opening up requests for more after you finish this list?

Here in Bristol we have a large well known fox population and as the BBC animal section is here, our foxes are regularly filmed. One male fox living in a railway siding gravel pit, had a regular wife and cubs and a mistress and a cub the other side of the site. Until then we never knew they cheated.

Not really so weird, lol. When two thirds of everything I owned had wolves on it, most of those things had blue as a main color. Perhaps it makes people think "cold" which in turn makes them think on the warmth of wolf fur. *shrugs*

If your original buyer doesn't take this, I will. I suppose it would be mean to offer to outbid them. :)

The person who requested this wolf has been waiting over four months for it.

Email me about the wolf/eagle, and you still haven't gotten back to me about dragonfly yet! :)

Will keep you posted. Not sure when the original requester will get back to me, since they're not on Livejournal as often as you or I. :)

I don't really feel like that would be fair on them.

They made the request over five months ago, and I knew then that they might not be around to grab it straight away back then, and it would be unfair to place constraints on them now without even being able to let them know in advance.

I've done all I can to make contact; including leaving them a message in their inbox. It might be frustrating for you, but I want to be fair on [livejournal.com profile] boundfate, who made the original request such a long time ago.

LOL I don't blame you.

I know right? I'm not a gray wolf totem art factory. Heh.

I've drawn gray wolf for this series 3 times now, though I really enjoyed this one, I knew it would be the last for a while in this series. And I've drawn gray wolf separately again as a totem three separate times (one of which has been deleted off Livejournal).

So six pictures of gray wolf as totem, plus an additional two gray wolves in pictures of peoples spirit guides...

Well, let's just say I need a break. *grins*

I didn't mean without letting them know. Let them know, and then say you need to know within a certain time.

*nods* It would be all well and good if I knew they could get onto a computer within two weeks. :) But I think I should hear back from them within a month, at any rate, since they don't seem to be offline/off livejournal for longer than that.

How about getting back to you in less then 24 hours? *grins*

Of course I want it. You really captured the gentler side of wolf - something so few can do. I'd love to see prints of the other two grey wolves you've done - I bet they would make a fantastic series on a wall. This is wolf calm and not kicking my ass lol.

Where would I go to find a frame to fit this beautiful piece of art? And can you message me your paypal info?

Date: 2009-03-04 05:06 pm (UTC)

Ha - found the paypal info! Money sent as well as a deposit for my requests and the framing question.

Aw. But congrats on getting a truly lovely piece. :)

I've had my "as totem" pieces framed at a local frame shop. A good frame person will be able to work with you and show you different options before you pick one. They tend to have a really good eye for what looks good too. I've been really happy with mine. :)
