[livejournal.com profile] linstar, you're down for this one. Shoot me an email if you want me to add it to the bunch. :)

Unicorn as Totem

I've never really liked horse-based unicorns, unless they are dark, gothic creatures. So instead I did a goat-based unicorn.

This one's not so dark and gothic though. But I think it's more fluffy than you're average horse-based unicorn.

ZOMG!!! This is awesome!

I was so curious to see how you'd go colour-wise with this one and it looks absolutely sublime!

I'm so lucky I get to see them all in real life, it looks truly amazing.

On an aside, that one you wanted me to post today has gone off without a hitch.

Yay for the cloven hoofed ones and boo for horses with icecream cones stuck on their heads! (I got so cross once I did a whole design based on a field guide on how to tell the difference between the two, so I'm always so glad to see something like this)

And as a definite plus, this is a delightful painting!

Well done, and s/he looks a real character!

I second the boo for horses with ice-cream cones stuck on their heads. Although... I used to like those ones a lot as a kid.

Ooooh, he looks really goaty, right down to the oblong pupil! I like that. He as a somewhat...old school look. The goat ears, perked up, and the goaty smile really do something for the expression. A little wise, a little curious or interested, and just a bit smug or knowing.

I met someone at a rest stop once that had a kid pygmy goat with them. He was adorable.

(I have always liked goats.)

Unicorn goat! Fuck yeah!

And goat faces seem like they'd be able to talk much more than horse faces, janno?

Date: 2009-01-28 07:00 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] moonvoice.livejournal.com
Yeah I reckon goat faces would find it much easier to talk. :)

I love both 'regular' unicorns and 'alternate' unicorns. I adore seeing a bunch of variations on the concept, no matter where it goes. ^_^

Yeah! ^5

All right, it's been decided, Rav. You need to do a unicorn series with all the variations you can think of. :P

Totally kidding. You're doing far too much work as it is. SLOW DOWN. <3

I like it a lot, he has the "I'm Cool..Oh, yeh." bit *Down*---Very Nice! thank you...

Goats are cool--

-I have often thought a unicorn based on an antelope would be interesting...Sable antelope have the arched neck, long tail and a short mane, Others have the long legs *I* think of...

I normally am a fan of the horse-based unicorn and don't usually like goat-based ones. I like this guy though. I like the colours and the cooolness ofhis facial expression. I like it. :)

I sometimes wonder what a deer-based unicorn would be like. Hmm.

I immediately went.. but it looks like a goat! And then I read... duh.

I didn't realize that there was such a beast of a goat-based unicorn... are there more out there like this? I think it's a neat idea. :)

The original European depictions of unicorns had them looking more goatlike or deerlike. Horsey unicorns are a newer interpretation of the creature.

Traditional unicorns were deer and goat based; and had nothing to do with horses until contemporary times.

Horesy unicorn icon fits? o.o

He's got a Last Unicorn horn tuft!! ^-^

Maaaah-velous, dahling. I love it! I'm usually a fan of the hybrid type--horse face, but the goat hooves, tail, and some mix int eh body form. Stockier than horses, but not quite as barrel-chested as a goat. And feathers! Must have beard and fetlocks. Nom!

That's just me xD I like fluff and feathers, heh heh. And horses. Might be biased on that last bit, though *giggle*
