Emerald Moth as Totem
There are thousands of emerald moth species out there, and I loosely based this one off the Large Emerald Moth, or Geometra papilionaria. They are beautiful, delicate creatures. They feed off alder, beech, rowan and hazel.

Original available for sale ($75 USD - ON HOLD)
18.5 x 20.5cm (or 7.4 x 8 in)
illo's board, fineliner, aquarelle, pencil, metallic and iridescent paint

Date: 2008-12-16 09:14 am (UTC)I don't know why, but I feel very... womanly and powerful and feminine from this art. I wish I could place why, but I love it, it is stunning. :)
Also.. Once over on Deviantart... Can we just press the cute little purchase button on the site over there and will you eventually get money for the prints we buy? :)

Date: 2008-12-16 09:15 am (UTC)As it is, DA takes 70% of the print sale profits. But it's better than nothing; I wouldn't sell prints at all otherwise.

Date: 2008-12-16 10:03 am (UTC)How good a printer do you need? Hrm. I am pondering whether we can find a better way for you to do this.... I'm in love with your polar bear but I'd rather be giving you the money than deviantart! *torn look*
Let's talk printers..... :)

Date: 2008-12-16 12:57 pm (UTC)How much did your awesome photo-printing printer cost? Heh.

Date: 2008-12-16 01:22 pm (UTC)That said, the print quality is comparable to what you'd get at the regular print shops such as Hardly Normal, etc. Biggest difference would be the texture of the paper used, and the fact that you can't get the prints wet. :P
I should probably find something (http://www.flickr.com/photos/michael_deegan/) to print that will give a better indication of what the printer's capable of.
That said, I don't think it would be too much of an imposition if you wanted to borrow the printer (http://www.epson.com.au/products/inkjet/stylusPhotoR210.asp) to try for yourself.

Date: 2008-12-16 01:26 pm (UTC)And as for not getting prints wet, I can't get the originals wet either; I'm really used to that. *g*
I don't mind Epson. There are a few other artists I know online and I might ask around and see what they recommend.

Date: 2008-12-16 01:21 pm (UTC)However, that said, the prints are very high quality, as I have one in my room. Heh. And convenient, because they offer prints in sizes much larger than the originals.
