[Art] Russian Wolf as Totem

Probably one of the first wolf/totem pictures I've ever been happy with.

I'm slowly moving into more use of acrylic / watercolour pencils, but I'm not very comfortable with them and a lot of this picture is still in coloured pencil.

Narwhal has been playing in my head lately too, and I did Beluga not so long ago, so I guess they have been. I'd love to do Wolverine as well.

If you have any animals you'd like to throw up too, go ahead. :) And I'm glad you said that, as I've never seen snow, or cold, so just had to... trust my intuition I guess. :D

Ravens, the northern variety (bigger and no white eyes), possibly even one of the white ravens that hung around UAF.
Moose were normally pretty ornery, but we had this phantom white moose (well, not so phantom- wildlife photographers had snapped pictures) who'd been known to save hikers after they fell into frozen lakes or rivers. He was not your average moose and it'd be interesting to see him depicted.
Um, I've never seen you do a bat. Arctic or otherwise, bats are cool, and I'd love to see how your style applies to them. Yes, we had bats in Alaska.

It's a ghost bat, which is a white/pink bat that we get in Australia. I never liked the picture, but other people seemed to. :)

I am absolutely in love with this. I want a copy for my wall, heh.
...I am far too tired to try to explain what is especially awesome about it. Wolves are really the creature I "get". Also blue is the colour I vibrate to. Also the snow reminds me of home.

It's different for me, this isn't a commission or anything, I just did it because I felt like it, and I'm really glad I did. I just want to do 'me' animals for a while, if that makes any sense, even if I do sell them.

And I think when I do animals that are 'me' animals, other people connect more to them as well.

Not usually, since it requires a mobility on my behalf that I just don't have anymore.

I would also need to source a new, good printer, and not being able to travel / walk properly etc. means that I'm going to wait until I've got my knee fixed.

I do have a 600dpi scan of this online (a good scan, in other words), so I could probably print off that. But it won't be until I have mobility again. Sometimes even just getting to the post office to post a picture is a challenge.

How about if I want a print of it, we work out an amount to pay you, and I just print it off at the Kinko's near my house?

As for that level of printing, the only way I will do prints is if I am still able to manually sign the image in a limited print run, to preserve the integrity of the original and the prints that come afterwards.

It will happen eventually, it's just not something I'm able to do right now.

Wow thank you! I've done Wolf before, twice. The first one I hated, and threw out. The second one I didn't mind, but it never really connected with *me*, and this one... I like this one. :D

I totally punished the illustrator's board however, and will have to leave it under a phone book for a few days to prevent warping. Lol.
