[Art] Duncan the Ferret as Totem
Sep. 1st, 2008 03:34 pmI was given a wonderful opportunity to work with an artist I have actually had works favourited of (on DeviantArt) for years! Hee.
_graywolf_, or Illahie over at DA. Her close buddy and friend Duncan (a ferret) passed away recently.
As I already had stoat on my list of animals to do, it wasn't a jump to change stoat to ferret and then try and capture the spirit of Duncan. :)

18.5 x 20.5cm (or 7.4 x 8 in)
illo's board, fineliner, aquarelle, pencil, metallic paint

Date: 2008-09-01 08:00 am (UTC)There is something almost photographic in quality about his eye; they are so realistic that it's eerie. They are alive. I think that ferret is trying to say something! (And if he's anything like the other ferrets I've had a chance to know, it is probably something along the lines of "Hey! That chick has excellent sparkly jewellery. The jewellery must now be mine! Engage stealth mode!"
Now I need a ferret. You really must stop doing this to me. :-)

Date: 2008-09-02 06:53 pm (UTC)~nod~ i got the feeling that it might have been Illahie's ferret, when you mentioned this in the previous post.
Beautiful work.
