Dhole as Totem

The dhole is a member of the canid/dog family, found throughout parts of Asia and Siberia. They have adapted to living in a wide, wide variety of habitats (from rainforest to desert), and is a very social animal; like the African Painted Dog. They have a really interesting range of vocal expressions. :)

Blue Mountain Butterfly as Totem

Also known as the blue mountain swallowtail and Papilio ulysses; this stunning butterfly is native to Australia and has a wingspan of 14 centimetres. The males sometimes confuse blue objects with females and so are attracted to the colour blue.

This illustration, despite kicking my ass at first, is one of my favourites of late.

Also known as the 'man, that blue tin of soft drink looks like a butterfly!' butterfly... )
