[Photos] Bell's Lookout
Jul. 2nd, 2019 05:48 pmLook, something that isn't the UK!
I'm trying to be more diligent about posting photo posts this year, even if they're (very) belated. I sort of want to get better about logging my life in a place that isn't just Instagram.
On Glen's birthday, he'd prepared for a flat, uneventful day, and I dragged him out of the house to Bell's Lookout, because I had the feeling the sunset would be stellar.
It was.
It's also like only a 10 minute drive from us, if that.
A very popular area for horseback riding. Or just sitting back and enjoying the sunset.

The building up ahead is a real estate office.

The hills which the Waugyl (rainbow serpent) runs through, having carved its path through. Also, the path of the Avon River, which becomes the Swan.

Cirrus and sheoak/Casuarina

Cirrocumulus and Casuarina

We were fairly certain was we watched the sunset, that the guy who pulled up behind us in his giant 'fuck off' ute (utility vehicle) blaring techno music was getting high. He drove off and came back again, and was very unhappy that we were still there, lol.

Grassheads glowing gold.

The land beginning to glow.

I have fond memories of going to Julia's as a teen (she lived near here) and looking out at the world, looking into the West, towards Perth and the Indian Ocean, as gold limned the clouds.

On the other side of the road...

Red

There she goes, beneath the horizon

The drive back home. (Although, now that I think about it, I think we may have been driving to San Churro's lol).
