The final post is bits and pieces that didn't really fit anywhere else. Almost all photos I took while we were on the road, and one from Doha airport.

We got delayed on the flight/s home by a good few hours (we ended up having to change planes when a technical difficulty became a 'we can't continue.') So consequently we were in Doha airport at about 3.00am when everything was closed. They treated us really well, and I wandered around looking at some of the art installations, while nobody except security guards were there staring at us like 'why are you roaming around.' Why, good sir, because the female toilets were broken and I had to find other ones.

Yes. Yes it is.

We also saw 'MAY TRAITOR' (for Teresa May) but I didn't get a photo of that one in time.

Well I know this was somewhere in Scotland, but not sure where.

This was the roadside Costa's we stopped at for lunch. I made the mistake of ordering the large hot cocoa, which comes out in what is basically a huge bowl with a handle.

I believe this was the drive from Liverpool to Edinburgh (on the Scotland side of things).

This is what I believe Scotland is probably like most of the time (but colder and with more rain). I loved it.

I believe this was the drive from Edinburgh to Inverness

This was definitely the drive from Edinburgh to Inverness, because we were stuck in roadworks related traffic on and off for a good 30-40 minutes. And I remember looking at this view, the scars of snow, as the temperature steeply dropped off, thinking: 'This is an amazing place to be stuck in roadworks.'

I suspect this was our drive out of Aberdeen, down to Carlisle.

We unintentionally drove the whisky roads from Aviemore to Aberdeen, passing so many well known and classical distilleries. I really wanted to stop off at some, even though I don't drink the stuff. They really are quite impressive places and obviously designed to attract tourists. This was Glenfiddich.

More Glenfiddich

The last of the Glenfiddich before we kept on driving.

Gorse and clouds made me inordinately happy.

This was our 'Aberdeen to Carlisle' day.

Doha Airport.
