I think I read somewhere that Edinburgh had the highest number of rhododendrons in terms of different species of like any Botanic Garden in the northern hemisphere but I can't actually find the information to confirm that so anyway let's just leave it at: they have a lot of rhododendrons. Most of which were in flower when we went.

I loved them, and spent a lot of time enjoying them.

Guess what, it's a rhododendron.

Some of these are not rhododendrons but who knows.

Not rhododendrons, just pretty.

I really liked these and read all the ones I could.

Next, the RBGE Greenhouses!

I could almost smell the apple blossoms in your photo. Ours haven't even started to bloom yet, our spring is so late. I particularly love the time when we have a light spring rain, and the apples are all in bloom, because our streets here are lined with them. The whole town smells of apple blossom. Also your last photo instantly had me humming Bonnie Kellswater, in a memory from when I saw _The Irish Rovers_ in concert years ago. I'm fond of the song, and it was of course triggered off by the line "... like the primrose is loved by the bee..".

Ranunculus always sounds like the name for a vegetable to me, perhaps related to radishes, turnips, or kohlrabi.

What a beautiful place! I love rhododendrons and I'm so sad that the one I bought for my mom last year didn't survive the winter. :(
