The Indian peafowl just wander around Caversham wild,
and it reminds me of how we now have a small incestuous population of wild peafowl
in our suburb too.
Because a vineyard owner had a bunch and then abandoned them and left them to go wild,
and they adapted pretty well actually
so now we get peacocks randomly wandering around.

I mean it's not ideal but they kill less wildlife than domestic cats do so.

We walked around the *majority* of Caversham and saw no wild peafowl, but saw some in enclosures and I was like 'oh no I guess they've caged them all.' And then right at the end we saw a bunch. We were down a section of the park no one goes down (domestic animals, but where the buffalo and ostrich are etc.) and we turned a corner, on our own, and literally saw this guy in full display.

But his feathers looked nicer (more iridescent) as he started to put them away.

A lovely fellow.

I love the scalloped feathers on his back.

We saw this younger fellow further along. Growing into his plumage, but no full tail this year.

Hi I'm a Kori Bustard in breeding plumage and I look ABSURD

Can I get an uhhhhh HOT OVERFEATHERED NECK

Hey, hey ladies, does this shagginess make you wanna, uh, shag me? (No.)
