Due to fairly dismal weather
(yay dismal weather!)
we saw no fairy wrens on this holiday.
But we still got to see some very pretty birds
and one very bond New Holland Honeyeater,
while at The Berry Farm.

Four silvereyes is clearly the perfect number.



And this gives you a proper idea of how gloomy it was, lol.

They're so gorgeous! This one was pretty habituated to us as well. But they're very well looked after at The Berry Farm (all wild, but they get fed lol).

Much as I love New Hollands, something about the shape of their face/eyes always makes them look adorably grumpy. ^_^

This one looked super grumpy at times, I love it. It's like when willie wagtails raise their white eyebrow and then look like they're just glaring at you the entire time lol

We bumped into a lot of jays in Italy this trip.

Oh I'd love to see Jays in person one day, we don't have them here!

Very handsome birds! I particularly like the first two photos, and then the first on the table. You can clearly see the curiosity. :D

So curious! And extremely bold, though that's their personality in general, just exacerbated due to habituation. I also think he's in breeding plumage right now (it's Spring, and I'm not sure the extra throat feathers are part of their normal plumage), but I'd need to double check that. Either way it is breeding season for them which probably made him more bold/vocal!

Could I ask what the EXIF data is, if you know?

What camera and lens do you use, too? :D

I'm using a Canon EOS 750D with the standard kit telephoto lens (I think that's the 55-255 or something). Here's the EXIF data! (Annoying that Photoshop wouldn't let me just copy / paste it, so a screengrab will have to do)



Tbh I had it on autofocus for a lot of the bird shots, because I think the focus + my eyesight isn't lining up properly at the moment, and I need to sort it out properly.

Seems like you used the pattern metering mode to get more even lightning. I'm gonna see if I can try that the next time. :)
