We watched the sunset at Prevelly,
on the first night.
We worried the sunset would be pretty boring actually,
but high haze due to smoke burn-off gave it all
a kind of post-apocalyptic feel.
Which was awesome.







The rivermouth is rehabilitating nicely after the fires from a couple of years ago.

I still can't get over how the waves are such different shades of blue, and how lovely that is contrasted with the gentle pink of the sky.

It was really very pretty, and very 'saturated' colour wise because of the haze in the sky. We actually thought it would be so boring (we arrived in on solid blue skies, and I prefer clouds with my sunsets lol), but arrived at Prevelly to hear they'd been doing a lot of burning off and with the humidity, none of the smoke had left. Terrible for allergies/asthma, but great for the sunset. :D

You will convert me to liking photos of the ocean I think. (Quite the accomplishment since you know that I spent a fair bit of time in the Mediterranean and have no particular love for the sea. As I was scrolling down I kept thinking "I like this photo even more"... "No, *this* one is my favourite out of the set"... "No wait...". I really can't choose a favourite. Maybe the fifth, twelfth, and fourteenth, and that is a struggle. Thank you for sharing them.

Ahaha, I'm glad I could make the ocean a bit more endearing! I have 'types' of ocean I love. Prevelly is just rocky and windy and blustery enough that I enjoy it. I tend to actually not love kind of 'quiet sunny tourism beaches' - which is what most people love and Perth has plenty of them but eh, I find them a bit bland.

We were very lucky to catch the sunset that we did. It was entirely down to the humidity dovetailing with the diffuse smoke haze from burning off before fire season.

I agree with you about the rocky coast definitely, as opposed to the favoured tourist one of wide, sandy, completely featureless. Also likely covered in bathers, which might be part of the lack of appeal. It's funny -- I enjoy swimming, and snorkeling, and diving, but it's not the huge pull it seems to exert on most people.
