I actually was only in London for a night,
and I was there to visit a friend.
And I was also tremendously ill.
So I wasn't able to do any of the tours or anything,
but still, I managed to see some things. :)

The story behind this Roman Wall of Londoninium is that we weren't looking for it. Basically, Glen saw it through a hotel carpark and was like 'what's that?' and we ducked through the carpark, and found this. It was tucked away. No one was there. But that's pretty typical of London in that - there is so much history, most of it isn't on display.

Underneath Tower Bridge.

Old and the new.

I actually just liked the architecture. Perth is a TINY city. Tiny. Lol.

Trish and Glen

Local church next to where we stayed.

And that is it for England!

Ah London! My favourite of the the large cities I have experienced, and one very few I would actually consider living in, if I somehow had the opportunity. Mind you, the last time I was there my stay was not so salubrious. I had selected a low/midrange hotel for convenience that is right off underground in Piccadilly Circus, and not only is it an older hotel (i.e. with shared bathrooms), I found to my chagrin that it's a favourite "party hotel" with people staying after an epic drunk. It was not a good thing for this very tired, jet-lagged and still travel-sick wanderer to have to share space with so many drunken idiots, and the state of the toilets does not bear repeating due to the same drunken idiots. The bed was also curiously short and the mattress uncomfortable... which is saying something coming from someone who frequently sleeps on the ground.

That said, I do intend to go back again for more than just a quick layover -- I just won't stay at that hotel again.
