[Photography] Macros (Monday batch one)

More from the garden.
These were my first attempts.
I'm using an Olloclip, which is a small phone attachment
that attaches to the iPhone.
I have a ton more but I'm trying to do these in order.
Man I actually have a lot of photos to put up in general so if you find these tedious
or unwelcome, you don't have to follow me <3











These guys moved way too fast to get properly in focus. This was the best of a bad bunch.

This was...probably stupid of me since I'm getting increasingly sensitised to beestings and I had to hold the phone really close to these bees to get the photos (i.e. a centimetre or two away). But I moved slow, and the bees were remarkably more interested in the abundance of nectar on the grevillea. No headshots though, they were moving too fast for any of those to be in focus.

The ants are gorgeous, and you know I have a weak spot for close views of succulents. That second photo of the blown flower is very striking too -- it could well be a professional cover piece for something.

Oh thank you so much. I want to catch ants more but of course they're often so busy during the warm times, and any fast movement causes a high amount of blur. But I'm enjoying them as a subject.

The colors in that glass mosaic are quite striking.

Also bees are adorable, whether their faces are visible or not. I am endlessly fascinated by their little articulated armors.

Ants are quite pretty in your part of the world.

The solar lights are incredible. They're outdoor lights and look gorgeous at night, and make a surprisingly good subject for photographing.

I want to get some more photos of bees with their actual phases, but I don't want to aggravate the poor things by having a giant phone looming over them, so I'll have to be careful.

We have a lot of different types of ants here, I can think of at least 6 different types in our garden. Some are very aggressive, and we actually have do a lot of work to keep them out of the house; but others are really awesome - I mean they all are, but the pest ones get frustrating. :)
