[Art] The Mourner Nightingale / Feathertail Glider.

This is the first kind of 'official' artwork I've done in a while,
though I'm still sketching a bit.
One is an illustration of a creature in a bunch of original writing I've been doing,
the other is a gift piece for a friend.
I'm so far away from being able to do commissions again at the moment.

I'm not surprised you have mixed feelings about it, I'm not surprised it feels weird. But, it is lovely to see your art even knowing that this is not an easy thing for you right now. *loves*

I think someone above said it best, it is so, so very good to see you online again, and so heart-fulfilling to see your art, albeit with the understanding that this year has been so difficult for you, and returning to your artwork must be quite the emotional roller coaster. I'm quite happy with the glider too. The style is a bit more minimalistic right now (i.e. not as saturated in colour, or in as many spirals), but it's good to explore animals again.

It's nice to see new artwork from you, and I can understand you not wanting to take on commissions again for who-knows-how-long (heck, I stopped offering to do commissions about ten years ago and I still don't feel comfortable offering to do them--not sure if I ever will again), so it's good that you aren't stressing yourself out to take on and complete commissions. Anyway, these look great, especially the glider, and how something about it just sort of 'pops' out notably :).
